Fundraising!
Clarke is a happy, loving, energetic and fun little boy. He lights up the room wherever he goes, and has shown us what true inner strength looks like.
Clarke is also a boy who was diagnosed just before his second birthday with a rare genetic mutation called Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome. Within the last year, he has also been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. With both of these diagnoses, daily activities can be difficult for Clarke.
Clarke has recently been accepted for having an Autism Service dog through Kingston4Paws. This service dog will assist in emotional regulation, balance but will also ensure Clarke’s safety. Both Clarke and the dog will be tethered together and each will be harnessed. If Clarke decides to run away, the command “anchor” will be given to the dog, causing both Clarke and the dog to stop. This will be an incredibly helpful command since Clarke has limited awareness of road safety and various hazards. By having this service animal, we will be able to visit parks, stores and participate in everyday activities which would not otherwise be possible.
We are reaching out to our community for support in this cause. An Autism Service dog requires years of training, and costs roughly $20,000 – $25,000 within the first two years. All of the proceeds that are raised will go to this non-profit organization to assist in providing Clarke with the service dog that he requires. No donation is too small, and we appreciate all the love, kindness of support everyone has given so far. Thank you to those near and far who are making this dream become a reality for our family!
A service dog is valued between $20,000 – $25,000. Our goal is too raise as close as we can to that amount
